For Ray
A poem and Praise Song.
"Ninety Years and
still going strong."
It's easy to say to Ray.
Hurry it’s your birthday
today.
It’s a delight and
pleasure to celebrate.
This very special,
amazing, superb Date.
So in joy and happiness
we mark this Score
And though envious, we
wish you, many more.
In good health, from
here on, all the way.
Why is it when we see
you we see Green.
It must be that pure
Irish sheen,
That never wears off, no
matter where you go.
We're certain from all
accounts we know.
That even in the Cape,
it was so.
That Dublin followed you
all the way.
In Israel, the Irish is
with you, right up to day.
Begorrah as they remark,
a true Irish Lass
From the place, where Guinness
and Irish whisky flow.
And know that you can
hardly wait.
To get to your job
almost every day,
At the Laundry where you
discuss with your mates
The daily news and what
they have on their plates.
While you fold all the linen
neat and straight.
The secret of your long
life is clear,
And although like
everyone else you shed a tear.
You always ready with a
laugh or smile,
Which helps you along
the road of life, mile after mile.
About everyone else’s
problems you really care.
What makes you a particular
Dear.
FOR YOU WE GIVE NINETY
CHEERS
